Introduction to Venturi Tube

The FDM08 utilizes the Venturi effect. A Venturi tube is a precise fluid flow measurement device based on principles of fluid dynamics. Its core feature is a specialized constriction within the pipeline. This unique constriction design aligns with Bernoulli's principle. According to this principle, as a fluid passes through the Venturi tube's special constriction, its velocity increases while the pressure decreases. By comparing the pressure difference before and within the constriction, fluid velocity can be calculated. The FDM08 precisely measures the pressure difference within the Venturi tube. The measured pressure difference is transmitted via analog signal to the DPM04 Flow Totalizer, converting it into air velocity and flow rate measurements. It monitors instantaneous flow rates while calculating cumulative flow rates.

Applications

High-Humidity Environment: Air at the outlet of air compressors typically has higher humidity. The FDM08, being moisture-resistant, can be installed before dryers to monitor the flow in compressed air systems.
Polluted Gas: Industrial furnaces, boilers, or other combustion systems often contain pollutants. The FDM08 remains unaffected by polluted gases, effectively monitoring air flow to ensure combustion process efficiency and stability.
Dust Environment: Industrial gas measurements can be affected by dust particles in the gas. The FDM08 uses differential pressure measurement and has no sensing elements inside the pipeline, thus remaining unaffected by gas dust content, ensuring accuracy.
